Claro Peru launches 4G services

Thursday 29 May 2014 | 10:15 CET | News
Claro Peru announced the commercial launch of its LTE network. The 4G service is initially available in the main areas of Lima and will expand gradually to other cities amid a planned investment of over PEN 1 billion in the next five years. Customers need a compatible SIM and LTE equipment for the 1,900 MHz band to access the 4G service. The company is using its existing spectrum for the service, as it did not acquire spectrum in the earlier 4G auction. Claro offers a range of handsets from Samsung, LG, Nokia and Motorola supporting LTE.
