Claro, Telefonica team up on network sharing

Brazilian operators Claro and Telefonica have teamed up to develop a plan for sharing network infrastructure in order to improve 4G coverage. The agreement aims to optimize investment costs, operation and maintenance of networks and the provision of services to customers by improving coverage in 4G, which often requires a larger number of sites, said Telefonica said in a statement. The companies said that they will prepare a plan that will enable the sharing of infrastructure and backhaul over the next three years. The agreement also involves 3G.
