Cloud infrastructure market up 42% to USD 11.4 bln in Q1

Intensifying competition for business customers among leading cloud service providers helped drive global cloud infrastructure services spend to USD 11.4 billion in the first three months of 2017, up 42 percent year on year, according to a report from Canalys. Amazon's AWS maintained its market dominance, holding a stable worldwide share of 31 percent thanks to its established channel programme. Microsoft continued growing, posting a 93 percent year on year rise as a result of its huge enterprise client base and its latest Azure Stack cloud initiative. Google was ranked third ahead of IBM,
