Cloud IT infrastructure revenues lift 48.2% in Q3

Vendor revenue from the sale of IT infrastructure products (server, enterprise storage, and Ethernet switch) for cloud environments, including public and private cloud, lifted 47.2 percent from the year before in the third quarter to USD 16.8 billion. The increase was at 48.4 percent in the second quarter. With the newest double digit advance, IDC also raised its forecast for total spending (vendor revenue plus channel mark-up) on cloud IT infrastructure for full year 2018 to USD 65.2 billion, with year-on-year growth of 37.2 percent. The forecast had raised in the first and second quarter.
