CMA rejects BT, TalkTalk broadband pricing appeals

The UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has dismissed two appeals from BT and TalkTalk relating to Ofcom's decision on superfast broadband pricing in March 2015. Ofcom placed restrictions on the charges BT can apply for of its superfast broadband network. BT and TalkTalk both appealed to the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT), which then referred the appeals to the CMA. As well as offering retail fibre broadband services, BT is also required to let other operators to use its network to sell superfast broadband to consumers under a process known as 'virtual unbundled local access'
