CNMC to probe Mediaset over product placement

Spanish communications regulator CNMC has launched a proceeding leading to a possible fine against broadcaster Mediaset regarding alleged product placement breaches. Mediaset was accused of breaching the General Law on Audiovisual Communication in relation to subliminal advertising techniques used on the programme "Viva la Vida" on Telecinco in September 2018 and on "First Dates: San Valentin" on the channel Cuatro in February 2019.
