Cobham, ViaSat to develop new MSS products, services

Thursday 19 November 2015 | 14:50 CET | News
Cobham Satcom and ViaSat have inked a strategic agreement to introduce new and innovative product and service offerings to the Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) market. The first offering, the new Explorer 122, is a compact vehicle mount real time IP satellite terminal, aimed at complementing the Explorer Push-To-Talk (PTT) system for mission critical voice and data communications. The Cobham PTT technology will allow seamless handover of voice calls from cellular-to-satellite when the terrestrial connection is lost, without interrupting the conversation.
