Cofely to connect 100,000 smart meters over Sigfox network

Energy consumption reduction specialist Cofely Services, a subsidiary of France's Engie (formerly GDF Suez), has integrated a solution from French IoT network operator Sigfox. Cofely plans to connect at least 100,000 smart meters in all types of buildings, showing consumption, temperature and optimising their energy performance.Sigfox's ultra-narrowband (UNB) network has been exclusively designed for small messages that will meet the needs of most objects connected to the IoT. By providing energy-efficient two-way data transmission at a lower cost than GSM, the company aims to lower barriers
