Colombia and Peru sign border interference deal

Thursday 1 March 2018 | 14:52 CET | News
Colombia's Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications (Mintic) has announced the signing of an agreement with its Peruvian counterpart to ensure interference-free mobile services in border areas. The deal was signed by Colombian ICT minister David Luna and Peru's transport and communications minister Bruno Giuffra at a binational cabinet meeting held in Cartagena, with the countries pledging to coordinate the use of radio spectrum in an area extending 1.6 kilometers on each side of their shared border. Colombia reached a similar deal with Ecuador last year.
