Colombia hits broadband target with 98% of localities online

Tuesday 24 October 2017 | 15:13 CET | News
Colombia has fulfilled its universal broadband coverage target several months ahead of time, with ICT minister David Luna announcing at a government event that 98 percent of the country's municipalities are now online, with total connections reaching 28.7 million. "This government promised to deliver 27 million Internet connections by 2018 and we have met that goal in advance," said Luna, adding that 772 localities also have LTE access.
