Colombia launches rural ICT tender

Colombia's Ministry of Information Technology and Communications (Mintic) has published draft rules for companies interested in bidding for the universal sustainable access (UAS) project to connect around 1,000 rural areas to the internet throughout community access centres. The initiative is a continuation of the previous administration's Vive Digital ICT plan launched back in 2012, which connected over 900 centres in more than 500 cities across 26 departments.
