Colombia set to delay analogue TV blackout to 2021

Monday 11 March 2019 | 12:06 CET | News
Colombia may be forced to delay full migration to digital terrestrial television (DTT) until 2021, reports NextTV News, citing a statement from the National Telecommunications Commission (CNTV). The country was due to switch off its analogue signal at the end of December 2019 but is behind schedule and has therefore launched a consultation to come up with a new deadline. "The blackout deadline could coincide with the culmination of the DTT deployment, which would be in 2021, but is not conditional upon it," said Mariana Vina Castro, director of national television authority ANTV.
