Colombian 'broadband' speeds must reach minimum 25Mbps by January

Monday 24 December 2018 | 11:03 CET | News
Colombia is set to implement a new rule on 01 January 2019 that bans operators from referring to mobile and fixed internet services as "broadband" unless they offer minimum speeds of 25Mbps (download) and 5Mbps (upload), reports El Tiempo. The measure was announced by former ICT minister David Luna back in June 2017 and is now set to be activated after operators were given 18 months to adapt their commercial offers to the new requirements.
