Colombian operators join GSMA disaster response initiative

The GSMA has announced that Colombian mobile operators Claro, Movistar (Telefonica) and Tigo-Une have signed up to its Humanitarian Connectivity Charter as part of the "We Care Colombia" campaign. The aim of the initiative is to strengthen access to communication and information for those affected by crisis, with operators committing to create a more coordinated and predictable response to disasters and humanitarian crises. The Mobile Industry Association of Colombia (Asomovil) also signed up to the Charter, an initiative first unveiled by the GSMA at Mobile World Congress 2015.
