Wednesday 15 January 2020 | 11:44 CET | News

Cold Portugal ended 2019 with double-digit growth of 10 percent, compared to 5 percent growth in 2018, reports TeK. According to country manager Carlos Jesus, Colt will continue to invest and expand in urban centres and submarine cables in 2020.

The company has 830 km of fibre linking 12 data centres and 777 buildings in Lisbon, Oeiras and Oporto, as well as metropolitan networks in Vila Nova de Gaia, Maia and Sintra. Overall, Colt Portugal’s Iberian network has 1,700 km of fibre, making it attractive to companies on the African and American continents who wish to transport content to new markets.

The company invested EUR 2.5 million in its infrastructure to prepare for the arrival of 5G, the manager said.
