Comcast launches Docsis 3.1 Gigabit service in Atlanta

Comcast has launched a consumer trial of 1 Gbps service using Docsis 3.1 technology in a number of neighbourhoods of Atlanta. Initial customers in Atlanta will have the choice of a promotional contract price of USD 70 a month for 3 years, or USD 139.95 a month with no contract. Once this advanced consumer trial is complete, Comcast plans to roll Gigabit service out at additional price points in other markets to gauge consumer interest in Gigabit speeds.
