Congo govt earmarks XOF 2.2 bln to bolster rural telecommunications

The government of Congo Brazzaville has set aside XOF 2.2 billion to bolster telecommunications services in rural areas, reports Ecofin. This is about 75 percent of the budget of almost XOF 3 billion adopted by a committee overseeing the electronic communications access and universal service fund in March. The committee chaired by Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Economy Leon Juste Ibombo validated a document on strategy to develop universal access and service for the period 2020-2025.
