Congo Telecom, SCPT sign Brazza-Kinshasa fibre agreement

Thursday 30 April 2015 | 13:36 CET | News
The cities of Brazzaville, Congo, and Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have signed a fibre agreement to allow Congo Telecom and the DRC's SCPT to improve internet service provision between the two countries, reports Agence Ecofin. The two state-owned operators "will supervise high traffic voice, data and image transmissions," said Congo Telecom's CEO at the signing ceremony. The under-river link first announced in 2012 will reduce faults and technical problems between Kinshasa and the Mouanda landing station, and between Brazzaville and the Matombi landing station.
