Consumers union finds businesses violating privacy law with Facebook info sharing

Many companies are sharing customer information with Facebook without obtaining the necessary permission from clients, according to the Dutch consumers union. The companies offer the info to Facebook in order to optimise advertising. This mainly involves email addresses but sometimes they also share personal data such as home addresses, dates of birth and phone numbers, the Consumentenbond found.
