Contactless payment accepted at all Aldi Nord branches

Retailer Aldi Nord announced that it will accept contactless payments at all of its 2,400 branches across Germany. The company will use H5000 card terminals from VeriFone, which are equipped with the NFC technology. To use the contactless terminals, customers need an NFC-enabled Maestro or V-Pay debit card, or else an NFC-enabled smartphone. For smartphone use, the installation of a wallet app with integrated Maestro or V-Pay debit card is necessary. Payments of less than EUR 25 do not require a PIN number. Since the beginning of June, contactless payments have also been possible at all Aldi
