Copaco chairman Benitez steps down

The chairman of Paraguay's state-run telecoms operator Copaco, Rogelio Benitez, has stepped down, reports local daily ABC Color. Benitez had been in the post for nearly two years and may be replaced by current Paraguayan cabinet chief Juan Carlos Lopez Moreira. According to recent press reports, the operator lost around 44 percent of its subscriber base during the 2012-2014 period, dropping from 395,000 subscribers at the end of 2012 to the current figure of 221,500.
