Copel could raise up to BRL 1.8 billion from sale of telecom assets

Brazilian regional electricity utility Copel could raise between BRL 1.6 billion and BRL 1.8 billion from the sale of its telecommunications business, analysts from the bank BTG Pactual said in a report, according to Reuters. Copel managers had said that the company plans to divest its telecom and natural gas assets as soon as possible, preferably in 2019. Earlier, Copel announced its Q1 2019 results, reporting a net profit of BRL 506 million (+42.2%).
