Costa Rica mobile lines down 4% to below 8.5 mln

Thursday 1 August 2019 | 13:55 CET | News
Total mobile subscriptions in Costa Rica came to 8.49 million at the end of 2018, down around 4 percent year on year due above all to the maturity of a market with a 170 percent mobile line penetration rate, said the country's telecommunications regulator Sutel. A 7.5 percent fall in prepay lines was partly offset by an 8.1 percent rise in the postpay segment, which now accounts for 26 percent of the market.
