Costa Rica reveals details of state-backed Wi-Fi project

Costa Rica's telecommunications regulator Sutel has announced the details of the country-wide project to bring Wi-Fi connectivity to public spaces in 360 districts. The 'Connected Public Spaces' initiative will use USD 65.7 million of resources from the National Telecommunications Fund (Fonatel) and will bring free Wi-Fi to a total of 515 public spaces in 82 cantons, including 418 parks, 62 public libraries, 28 train stations, 7 civic centres and 5 public universities, benefiting some 120,000 students.
