Costa Rica to connect over 4,500 schools in USD 350 mln rollout

Costa Rica's Superintendency of Telecommunications (Sutel) has announced that a total of 4,514 schools and public colleges will be connected to the internet under the government's Bicentennial Educational Network plan. The project has been entrusted to Sutel and the Omar Dengo Foundation after the country's Comptroller's Office annulled a contract to award the tender to connect some 2,139 schools to state-owned operator ICE, reports local daily La Republica.
