Costa Rica's ICE to begin 5G tests next month

Wednesday 30 October 2019 | 14:23 CET | News
Costa Rica's state-owned operator ICE will begin testing 5G mobile services in November, reports La Republica, citing Suzeth Rodriguez, CTO at ICE subsidiary RACSA. The pilot will be carried out at the Moin container terminal in Limon, with ICE set to test equipment from Huawei, Nokia and Telrad, said Rodriguez. After the tests are completed, the group will focus on selecting the appropriate equipment to enable it to transition to 5G by 2021, added the executive without specifying the bands used for the trial.
