Court confirms EUR 59.5 mln fine for Orange Caraibe

A French appeal court has confirmed the Competition Authority's 2009 decision about Orange Caraibe, which was fined for having unfairly harming the development of competition in Guadeloupe, Martinique and French Guiana, reports France-Antilles. The company was sued by Bouygues Telecom Caraibe and Outremer Telecom, which complained about Orange's exclusive agreements with independent retailers, exclusivity clauses with the only recognised handset repair company in the French West Indies, its customer loyalty programme and discriminatory price differentiation between on-net and off-net calls.
