Court suspends attempt to merge telecom, media regulators

Thursday 31 December 2015 | 11:05 CET | News
An administrative judge in Argentina has suspended the government's plans to merge the communications and telecoms regulators, AFSCA and AFTIC. The decision came shortly after Marcos Pena, head of the government cabinet, announced plans to merge the regulators into the new National Communications Regulatory Body (Enacom), The Buenos Aires Herald reports. The judge made the decision after a request by AFSCA delegate Guillermo Guerin to overturn the government's intervention at the regulator.
