Court suspends TIM's EUR 74 mln fine over Vivendi control

An Italian court has suspended has suspended the EUR 74.3 million fine imposed on Telecom Italia (TIM) for flouting golden power rules, reports Reuters. TIM was handed the fine for failing to notify the prime minister's office that French media group Vivendi, its top shareholder, had taken over de facto control of what the government viewed as a strategic national asset. Last month the operator said it had appealed original allegations on grounds that it hadn't taken decisions involving the disposal of its strategic assets. The court will set out the grounds for its decision on 04 July, added
