Covage makes takeover offer for Tutor

French infrastructure operator Covage announced an offer for an undisclosed sum to acquire Tutor, a competing infrastructure player engaged in the deployment of fibre Public Initiative Networks. The two companies serve primarily local communities in rural France, as part of the country's national broadband strategy ('France Tres Haut Debit'). The combined entity has pledged to cover over 1.3 million homes and businesses in the coming years, according to La Tribune, investing approximately EUR 180 million. To date, Covage and Tutor reach approximately 200,000 homes and 120,000 businesses
