Covage signals ambition for fibre investment in less densely populated areas of France

French infrastructure operator Covage has welcomed the proposal made by Arcep to redistribute the areas of the country earmarked for fibre deployment in the so-called 'AMII' settlement, reports La Tribune quoting the company's newly appointed executive board head Pascal Rialland. These areas, including mainly mid-size towns, could offer Covage the opportunity to bring FTTH services to approximately two million premises on an open-access basis, said Rialland, arguing that the operator should have a bigger role to play alongside France's four big telcos in achieving the targets set within the
