Covage to run public-initiative network in Essonne department

French infrastructure operator Covage has been selected to run a public-initiative fibre network (known as RIP, 'Reseaux d'Initiative Publique') in the Essonne department. Under a 15-year concession, the operator will be responsible for the technical and commercial management of the infrastructure, working within a consortium also including Orange, in charge of its operation and maintenance, and state-owned bank CDC (Caisse des Depots).
