CPT to raise TFT-LCD prices

Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) (Taiwan) will increase its TFT-LCD prices by over 5% in October 2001. For 15-in panels, prices will rise by USDlr10/unit, vs the current price of USDlr200/unit. For 14.1-in panels, the price will stay at around USDlr170 each. Samsung Group (S Korea), TFT-LCD manufacturer, and Hitachi (Japan) may also raise their 15-in panel prices, starting in October 2001. AU Optronics and HannStar Display (both Taiwan), both counterparts, may also raise their TFT-LCD prices. CPT will have a 210k-220k units delivery of TFT-LCD panels in September 2001.
