CSA sees any merger with Arcep as gradual process

French media regulator CSA has declared its position in the ongoing debate of whether the French government should merge it with telecom regulator Arcep into a combined body such as Ofcom in the UK. The report by CSA states that creating a single regulator faces opposition and could appear premature. It suggests a gradual rapprochement between the two institutions. Arcep gave its own lukewarm reception to the idea in a report to the government on 12 October.
