CSU introduces plans for 'digital economic miracle'

The Bavarian Christian Democratic party, the CSU, has introduced plans for a billion-Euro programme for the 'chance of a digital economic miracle', rp-online.de reports. The party has asked all the German states to use their own funds to invest in broadband expansion; local councils are supposed to install fibre grids and finance their expenses by renting them out. In the paper, the CSU also suggests that the installation of fibre cable and cable ducts should be mandatory when developing new residential areas.
