Cuba hits 1 million 4G users

Thursday 9 July 2020 | 12:53 CET | News
Cuba has reached the milestone of 1 million users of 4G-LTE services around a year after the technology was launched, reports local daily Periodico Cubano, citing a tweet from state-owned telecommunications operator Etecsa. The figure means around a third of the country's 3 million mobile internet users access the network via 4G, a situation that's set to improve with Etecsa's recent revamp of its 4G plans, even though the service is still only available in the country's provincial capitals.
