Cuba to begin testing LTE for heavy data users

Monday 11 March 2019 | 11:39 CET | News
State-owned telecommunications operator Etecsa has begun trials of 4G technology in northern Havana just over 3 months after activating 3G services all over the country, according to company officials cited by Miami-based daily El Nuevo Herald. The company has selected around 10,000 users who consume over 2.5GB of data a month for the pilot aimed at decongesting the 3G network for which it's providing 4G-enabled SIM cards, said the report.
