CWC, Huawei test first LatAm G.fast service

Cable & Wireless Communications has announced that its Panama unit, Cable & Wireless Panama (CWP), and Huawei have held the first successful trial of a copper-based broadband service across Latin America using G.fast technology. The two-month pilot achieved average download speeds of 500 Mbps and upload speeds of 150 Mbps over CWP's fixed lines, a fivefold increase compared to CWP's existing copper residential service in Panama.
