CWC revenues up 4% to USD 583 mln in June quarter

Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC) reported revenues up 4 percent to USD 583 million in its fiscal first quarter to 30 June, boosted by broadband and video demand but held back by stalling mobile revenues. The company, which acquired Columbus International on 31 March, said integration was progressing well and cost synergies had been identified, with a new management and organisation already in place. In terms of customer numbers, CWC reported a mobile subscriber base up 5 percent to 3.84 million on 30 June, with fixed line subscribers remaining steady at 1.13 million.
