Cyber crime affects one in two Germans - Bitkom

One in two internet users (51%) in Germany have been a victim of cyber crime over the last twelve months, according to a study conducted on behalf of IT association Bitkom. According to the survey, 16 percent experienced fraud when shopping or banking online, and 15 percent said that their access data for online services such as social networks, online shops or banking services had been stolen. Another 15 percent said that spam emails had been sent in their name, while 3 percent noticed that their personal data had been used illegally, by passing it on to third parties, for instance. Three
