Cyxtera to merge with Starboard acquisition vehicle in deal worth USD 3.4 billion

Cyxtera Technologies, created in 2017 by BC Partners from operations bought from CenturyLink, has now agreed to a merger deal with Starboard Value Acquisition Corp (SVAC), part of Starboard, in a transaction worth USD 3.4 billion. The deal will see Cyxtera's owners, including BC Partners and Medina Capital, rolling all of their equity stakes into the combined company, which will at one stroke become the world's third largest publicly held global provider of retail colocation and interconnection services.
