Czech Radiokomunikace launches DVB-T2 broadcasting

Thursday 2 March 2017 | 11:22 CET | News
Czech Radiokomunikace (CRA) has launched DVB-T2 broadcasting. It is available to 26 percent of the population and includes eleven television channels. The operator plans to extend the DVB-T2 network to 99 percent of territory by spring 2018. In 2020, a full transition to DVB-T2 with a switch-off of DVB-T is planned. The transition to the new standard is required under plans to release TV frequencies for 5G mobile data networks after 2020.
