DACH broadcast research institute faces uncertain future as shareholders withdraw support

The German institute for broadcasting technology, Institut fuer Rundfunktechnik (IRT), a research and development institution of public service broadcasters in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, said it will work towards finding a solution to continue its operations, Handelsblatt reports. The future of the institute, which was founded in 1956, is uncertain because it is losing the backing of its partners.
