Dailymotion in talks with French media partner - report

Friday 17 January 2014 | 10:02 CET | News
Orange video portal subsidiary Dailymotion is reportedly in talks with a media partner in France that would be able to provide it with exclusive content, Les Echos reports, without citing its sources. Canal Plus is thought to be a more likely partner than TF1, as it is has already tied up with Dailymotion to address the francophone Canadian market, whereas TF1 has a long history of legal action with Dailymotion. The French video platform is also in negotiations with Microsoft, which could preload it on Windows PCs. Talks have also begun with an Asian player which could support Dailymotion.
