Danish banks' Swipp takes over Paii mobile payment platform

Danish mobile payments system Paii said it is being taken over by Swipp, subject to approval from the Financial Supervisory Board. Paii was set up by Telia Denmark, TDC, Telenor Denmark and Hi3G (3 Denmark). The bank Nordea, the Regional Bank Association and the Local Money Institutes each own 30 percent of Swipp, with Nykredit owning the other 10 percent. The merged company will launch a new application in 2015, which will be available to anyone in Denmark, regardless of with whom they bank.
