Danish broadband subsidy bids total 173 for DKK 300 mln

The Danish Energy Authority said it received 173 applications for broadband subsidies in excess of DKK 300 million for projects covering 11,500 addresses by the 31 October. The authority expects to finish processing the applications before Christmas. A total of DKK 80 million is available from DKK 200 million earmarked to support broadband over the next four years. The applications came from 63 boroughs, and some local councils will supplement the funding.
