Danish court says Telia need not submit customer details for copyright litigation

Telia Denmark said it has welcomed a ruling by the Eastern High Court, the upshot of which is that Danish telecommunications companies should not provide their customers' private details. Telia pursued the case after a firm of lawyers demanded that it should supply customer data for use in litigation in copyright cases. CEO Morten Bentzen said the law was not intended for such purposes but for tackling terrorism and serious crime.
