Danish govt invites bids for Bornholm broadband subsidy

Monday 25 August 2014 | 22:14 CET | News
The Danish Digitisation Authority said DKK 60 million has been set aside to subsidise broadband on the island of Bornholm, and it is inviting applications. The funding will be given to the project that provides the best coverage and fastest possible speeds. The successful applicant must contribute at least DKK 30 million of their own co-financing. The recipient is to provide broadband for some 10,000 first homes, businesses and summer cabins on Bornholm. An information meeting will be held on 15 September and the deadline for applications is 25 November.
