Datagroup gets USD 65 mln laon from EBRD for Volia acquisition

Ukrainian operator Datagroup is purchasing the cable operator Volia with the financial backing of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The EBRD said it's providing a local currency loan equivalent to USD 65 million to Datagroup, which is majority owned by a fund managed by Horizon Capital. This will primarily finance the acquisition of Volia to help build a stronger, more competitive telecommunications operator with improved quality of service and an expanded product range.
