Dataxis sees only 1.9% African fixed web penetration by 2022

Friday 30 June 2017 | 11:27 CET | News
Dataxis has predicted that 20 million households and businesses in Africa will have wired internet connections by 2022, up from 11 million in 2016. Although wired broadband is on the rise as fibre-to-the-home comes to most developed countries, Africa still lags behind the rest of the world, it said. Dataxis said only 1.9 percent of the total population will have a wired internet connection in 2022, approximately ten times less than the world's global penetration.
